Individual Therapy

Everybody experiences some level of anxiety and depression during their lifetime. Anxiety might come in the form of stress, worry, or nervousness. Depression can often manifest in the form of fatigue, sadness, distress, or melancholy. Even healthy individuals can experience some level of anxiety and depression. This is a normal part of life. Many adults find their depression and anxiety might be a result of their childhood experiences. While all parents do the best they can, few adult individuals manage to escape childhood without some emotional injuries.

On occasion, we may find it difficult to function in our day-to-day lives because the anxiety and depression are so intense. Individual therapy can help you manage the symptoms of depression and anxiety as well as work to resolve the root cause.

Couples Therapy

As a Marital and Family Therapist, I look at the relationship as my client. When one partner wins over the other, the couple loses. In my experience, most couples need support in the areas of communication, connection, and conflict resolution. It takes commitment and engagement from both partners to see significant change. In my office, I utilize a 90-minute session approach. It has been my experience that couples who commit to the 90-minute session approach get more accomplished in each session, allowing their progress to improve quicker than doing the typical 50/60 minute model. Specifically, I have often noticed couples start to really dig in deeply around the 45-50 minute mark during a session which is when a typical appointment would be wrapping up. It is incredibly challenging to end the session right when significant progress is being made.

In the first sessions, I get to know the couple, mapping out their process. With the systems approach, I notice patterns between the partners that help inform my hypotheses for how to improve communication, increase connection, and reshape the current conflict resolution. As I observe interactions between partners and myself, I help partners begin to recognize the barriers to growth and ways to feel safer in the relationship.

While insurance does not cover 90-minute sessions, I do accept health savings account payments. Investing in your relationship can result in an invaluable return. When you and your partner are ready to get to work, let me know.

Trauma

Unfortunately, most individuals will experience some level of trauma in their lives. From childhood chronic trauma to adult acute trauma, the brain and body remember the experiences even when we are not aware. While trauma comes in many forms, healing can happen in the therapeutic relationship.

Betrayal Trauma

Betrayal trauma is a type of trauma that refers to the pain and emotional distress that occurs when a trusted institution, loved one, or intimate partner violates someone's trust. Betrayal trauma may occur alongside things like gaslighting and lead to anxiety and depression. The recovery from betrayal is unique to other types of relational stress and should be treated as such. If you have experienced the pain of infidelity or sex addiction, there is hope waiting for you.

The work may not be easy, but the outcome will be worth it.

If you are ready for change but have no idea how to get the life you need, I am ready to support you in your journey. Whether this is your first time in therapy, or you have tried it before, let's work together to create your new life.

Payment and Insurance Information

Investing in yourself needs to be a priority and you deserve to be informed of your options. While I am in-network for a few insurance companies, I want to empower clients to understand their choices. Services may be covered in full or in part by your health insurance. You are responsible for verifying your mental health benefits. If I am not in-network with your insurance company, you have the opportunity to file an out-of-network claim with your insurance company to help support the financial cost. Here is a great article to help walk you through the process. My fees for therapy are listed below.
